A Pofessional Installer's First Time with the Sa8v3

Posted by Unknown on 15th Dec 2015

In short, wow. I have done a lot of work over the years with some of the other major sub brands such as DD, Treo, TC, etc, and these little things pound. Hooked then up in a series tuned box tuned to 29 in the rear and about 57 in the front chamber, wired down to 1 ohm, receiving about 350w a piece, and even being very underpowered this things bang. Having come from a long history of larger 12s, 15s, and 18s, I was skeptical at 8s being able to reproduce low frequencies with much of any volume. Let me be clear when I say there is a slight taper, which is understandable due to the much smaller cone surface area and internal woofer component sizes, but I am truly impressed. At this price, this will be my go to 8.

    BEASTLY little woofers!

Posted by Elijah on 11th Apr 2015

I purchased six of these 8's and threw a bit of power on one of them to get them moving, see how they sounded. These things extend far down into the lows and kill it on the highs. I'm absolutely impressed with how much excursion these little 8's can get, being as tiny as they are.

Aesthetically, these woofers are gorgeous. The new venting is very aesthetically pleasing and the new, taller v.3 surround is gorgeous.

I love my little woofers and I can't wait to get them running on 5K.

(I'll add onto this one or write another review when I get them playing with ~x2 as much power as they should be handling).
